  • 5 small-scale magnesite quarries
  • 3 small-scale silica quarries
  • 2 small-scale limestone quarries
  • 2 small-scale chromite quarries
Mining Rights Granted

There are currently 33,804.38 hectares of land covered by approved mining tenements, namely:
  • 12 Mineral Prod’n Sharing Agreements(MPSA)
  • 1 Exploration Permit (EP)
  • 11 Mining Lease Contracts/Lode Lease Contracts
  • 1 ISAG
Economic Potential Of The Mining Industry
  • There are currently 4 large-scale mineral development projects with the potential to generate foreign direct investments of US$ 1.734 Million, additional 9,500 direct and indirect employment.
  • These projects have an estimated total potential annual revenue of US$ 654 Million
  • These projects are expected to contribute substantially to the socio-economic development of communities, local governments, and to the country, in general.
  • An effective instrument in poverty alleviation in the countryside
