1. Restore air quality within standards,especially in Metro Manila
- Focus on enforcement activities against smoke belchers and erring factories
- Reduce the total suspended particulates or TSP in Metro Manila and other major urban centers by 50 percent in the next five years, to bring these within standards

- Proper closure and rehabilitation of the 794 open dumpsites and 304 controlled dumpsites nationwide
- Develop sanitary landfill and other cleaner and safer forms of disposal system
- Provide guidance, technical assistance and waste management strategies and options to LGUs
- Promote recycling
- Prioritize in our plans the disposal of toxic and hazardous wastes estimated at 2.3 metric tons per year

- Forest boundary delineation is critical for forest protection & against encroachments
- Reforest 86,235 hectares of forestlands especially in the Pampanga River Basin, Bicol River Basin, in Quezon and and in Aurora. Only indigenous species, specially threatened species, will be utilized in reforestation.

10. Undertake social mobilization to ensure that communities are involved in the protection of the environment

11. Prevent or minimize loss of lives and properties during disasters through the completion of the geo-hazard maps
- Provide a total of 1,300 municipalities nationwide with maps at a scale of 1:50,000 in the next three years
- Provide areas with very high vulnerability to landslides with maps at a scale of 1:10,000
- Identify and ensure appropriate remedial measures for weakened and damaged tailings dams and such other infrastructures that may spill pollutants in case of flashfloods and other calamities

- Completed the regional map with a scale of 1:250,000 showing Region XIs geological features including flood prone areas, landslide prone areas, etc.
- Preparation of map with a scale of 1:50,000 scale, by municipality, is on-going.
- Currently undertaking inventory by municipality and by barangay to determine areas prone to landslides and other geological hazards
