1.24.2008 DENR’s Year-End Annual Budgeting Seminar held in Davao City
 The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) had its week-long Year-End Annual Accounting Budgeting Seminar-Workshop held at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City.This nationwide workshop was participated in by all the DENR’s Accounting and Budgeting Officers as well as its Resident Auditors from Regions I to the Caraga Region. During his opening speech, Director for Finance Wilfredo J. Obien stated that the main goal of the workshop is to effectively consolidate all the financial reports from the Central Office down to the Regional and Provincial offices and from those of the Bureau Offices as well. The consolidated financial report is due for submission to DENR Secretary Lito Atienza not later than February 14 this year.  The workshop was also made as the venue for giving of updates from the Accounting and Budget Divisions as well as those from the Commission on Audit. Important issues and concerns and other related matters were thoroughly discussed to be able to get a grasp of the real scenario as far as accounting and budgeting is concerned.Being the host of this year’s annual budgeting seminar, DENR-XI’s Regional Executive Director (RED) Ricardo L. Calderon welcomed all the guests and participants with warmth and enthusiasm assuring them of a “life easier away from home.” (jei v. agas)
