8.16.2007 Lariosa Leads Tree Planting In Kapatagan, Davao del Sur
 Tree planters from the Local Government Units (LGUs) of Davao del Sur, business sectors, military personnel, students and employees of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-XI) planted a total of 3,333 seedlings in Sitio Kidaran, Brgy. Kapatagan, Davao del Sur, in line with the “Trees For Life” project, a project under the Green Philippines Program (GPP) of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. The seedlings were composed of various species such as Narra, Agoho del Monte and Tinikaran were planted in the five (5) hectare open land classified under the Protected Area and Critical Watershed thematic site.  Regional Executive Director (RED) Ricardo L. Calderon of DENR-XI expressed his appreciation for the efforts extended by the various sectors in Davao del Sur specifically the LGUs. “I am optimistic that the “Trees for Life Project” in Region XI will be successful”, Calderon added.
